Personal Goals for Teaching Microscopic Anatomy, AP 710

I have several personal goals for my teaching in this course. First, I want to help the students begin to appreciate the three dimensional structure of the tissues and organs of the body. Second, I try to help them get familiar with the use of the microscope. Third, I try to teach students distinguishing features of cells, tissues and organs. Fourth, I want to help them build a histological vocabulary that will prepare them for successive courses in the curriculum. Fifth, I want students to see how each cell functions as part of the whole of the organ/organism. Sixth and finally, I try to help them appreciate the beauty of the cells, tissues and organs of the body.
